We hand select the best rocks for your fire pit application. Each rock comes individually wrapped to assure no damage during shipping. You are not charged for this service.
If you're looking for black lava rocks, these dark red/burgundy color rocks do darken over use.

Fire Pit Recommendations: This is based on a normal round fire pit. We can calculate approx. rock amount for irregular pit sizes as well
.
Fire pits that are 36" in diameter and 12" deep will take around 150 pounds of rocks 4"-6" in size.
For fire pits 4'-6' in diameter and 12"-14" deep, rocks size 6"-8" will require 200+ pounds to fill the pit adequately.
For a nice looking rock formation, mounded, use both 4"-6" & 6"-8" sizes! Mixing sizes: OK!
When you place your order with us we pick out the size of lava rock your requesting. We then weigh your order and send you via email or if requested phone call with the total weight & shipping charge to your zip code.
Each rock is wrapped in a foam sheet and packed in a styrofoam lined box so your order arrives in tip-top shape.
We do not charge you for chiseling, packaging or handling. You are only charged for the rock per pound and the actual shipping cost.
There are NO hidden fees, ever.
Red lava rocks can be used as decoration around the yard, in flower beds, sweat lodges, fire pits and saunas. We custom chisel the rocks to the size you request.
Rocks cost: $1.34 per Lb up to 200 Lbs. From 201 - 400Lbs. $1.29 per Lb. Over 400 Lbs. $1.21 per Lb.
Approximate Rock Quantity per 50Lb Box. We gladly mix rock sizes and you do not need to purchase a 50 Lb box. If you need say only 4 rocks or any amount we can accommodate your order.

Here's a photo of grey/black large lava rock boulders. These range in size around 2'-4' and 1'-2' thick. This size of lava rock is excellent for carving. The larger lava rocks look great by pools and outdoor ponds.
